Metsjö Relaunches Forage Wagons with Precision Chop Technology
Following strong market demand, Metsjö is relaunching its range of forage wagons designed to deliver precise, short-cut grass. This initiative strengthens and expands Metsjö’s offering within the forage wagon segment for professional users.
After a period of pause related to an ownership change at the forage drum supplier Kongskilde, the operation now has a new owner in the form of SEKO. This ownership transition creates solid conditions for continued development and long-term stability of the forage wagon programme.
“We have received many inquiries from the market, and it feels very good to once again be able to offer forage wagons. With the new supplier solution in place, we now have the right conditions to continue developing the forage segment long-term,”
says Anders Ivarsson, CEO of Metsjö.
The relaunch includes both the 1060 forage harvester and the 1460 ROC forage harvester, offered together with a complementary trailing wagon behind the harvester. The wagons are available in capacities ranging from 42 to 90 cubic metres, providing high flexibility depending on operation, capacity requirements, and working conditions. All forage harvesters are equipped with a metal detector as standard.
One of the most common configurations is expected to be the MetaQ 75 combined with the 1460 ROC forage harvester, offering a capacity of 52 or 62 cubic metres. The forage wagons feature a well-designed roof that effectively prevents finer material from blowing away during transport. The harvesters are also designed to allow loading into a wagon driving alongside.
A key advantage of the solution is its high level of operational flexibility. The trailing wagon behind the harvester can easily be disconnected and replaced with a separate drawbar. Thanks to the possibility of changing bodies on Metsjö’s tipper wagons, customers benefit from highly efficient capital utilisation, allowing the wagon to be used year-round for multiple purposes, such as dumper operations. For even greater flexibility, a hook-lift system can also be installed.
The forage wagons are also available with a conveyor floor, providing an alternative for specific applications, such as unloading into bunker silos. In these configurations, body exchange is not possible.
Metsjö continues to develop its forage wagon offering and will present new and innovative product solutions within the forage segment in the future.
